DWELL WITHIN - Demo 2007
Dwell Within is not a "new" band. Born from the ashes of Oversoul, Dwell Within started from Cornelius' desire to make music again after returning to Oklahoma from his bass duties with doom cult legends Place of Skulls. Dennis invited Chris Greenway, who had joined Oversoul after their one and only album was recorded in '99, to join him in continuing to make music in the same tradition. It naturally followed that the two asked Patric Barrett, who was Oversouls drummer, to rejoin the fold. The trio started to get some songs together trying to stay away from rehashing old ideas and playing Oversoul tunes and by the time January '06 rolled around there was still no name for the project and everyone was busy with one thing or another, Patric with his other band at the time Pinhole Sunn, and Dennis with his new job at Guitar Center. It was at Guitar Center that Dennis would run into Dylan Richardson, better known in OKC as Tattoo DJ. DJ was considering giving up playing music at all to devote more time and energy into his budding Tattoo business and was in GC to sell his gear. After a heartfelt talk and realizing that DJ loved the music that Oversoul created it felt quite natural for Dennis to invite DJ in on rhythm guitar. Now over 2 years later, releasing the Monkshood demo, and stronger as a band than ever Dwell Within sits on the precipice of a new plateau of creativity.
