The Gaahl-fronted version of the Norwegian black metal band GORGOROTH has issued the following update:
"GORGOROTH will enter the studio in their hometown of Bergen, Norway on August 25, 2008. Eight new tracks composed by King will be recorded for an as-yet-untitled new album. Along with Gaahl, King and Frost on drums, the full recording lineup will include Teloch (guitar) and Ice Dale (guitar). ENSLAVED's Herbrand Larsen will once again produce GORGOROTH in the studio."
According to Gaahl and King, the Swedish appeal courts (Hovretten in Malmö) recently upheld the decision by authorities at Tingretten in the matter concerning Regain Records' unauthorized release of GORGOROTH's "True Norwegian Black Metal - Live in Grieghallen" album. Regain Records was once again found in violation of copyrights and agreements made with Gaahl and King and was ordered to cease distribution of this release.
"Live in Grieghallen" was released in June via Regain. According to a press release, the CD was recorded live at Grieghallen in Bergen, Norway by Eirik "Pytten" Hundvin and features Infernus on bass and guitar, Gaahl on vocals, and Garghuf on drums.
"Live in Grieghallen" was mixed and mastered by Nico Elgstrand (ENTOMBED) and features all the GORGOROTH "essential songs" from the band's back catalog performed live.
On October 21, 2007, GORGOROTH guitarist Infernus posted a message on the band's MySpace page that said, "I am writing to inform you about the fact that there has been taken a decision to split up the band, Infernus on one side, Gaahl and King on the other. We cannot continue working together any longer. What is still not agreed upon is who rightfully gets to keep the band's name. Since this will be a question of legal affairs, I am afraid this might take time to get sorted out. I am sorry for that."
On December 13, Regain announced it would back Infernus, saying it "recognizes Infernus as the rightful owner of the band's name, logo, and trademark, and is prepared to take any legal steps necessary to prevent any third party from exploiting it, artistically and commercially."
Unbeknownst to Infernus or Regain, King had filed paperwork to trademark the name and logo for GORGOROTH in September 2007. On December 19, Gorgoroth.org (now under the control of King and Gaahl) reported that Patentstyret, Norway's patent office, had awarded ownership of the band's name and logo to King and Gaahl.
Entretanto, ali ao lado:
In the past few months there have been several news stories concerning the dispute between Infernus and his former bassist and vocalist. Contrary to what the opposition might say, the trademark ownership matters are still as undecided as they were six months ago, and will not be resolved until a verdict is made in a to-be-announced trial in Oslo, Norway. Also, due to disagreements between Regain Records and the aforementioned former bassist and vocalist, a temporary injunction has been issued, suspending the distribution of the 'True Norwegian Black Metal - Live in Grieghallen' album until the matter can be handled in a trial in Malmö, Sweden.
All this has understandably led to confusion among the fans, and the focus seems to have drifted away from the musical aspects. It is therefore time to get back on track and release this little update on the progress of the next album, Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt:
The past few months have been spent rehearsing the new material in Tomas Asklund's Monolith Studio outside of Stockholm. A pre-recording has been made, containing drums, guitars and bass. At the moment, Infernus is working on the arrangements, with assistance from former Gorgoroth member Tormentor. When all the songs have been arranged into a satisfactory form, the drums will be recorded in Monolith Studio. Infernus will then record the guitars in the Laboratório 6 studio in Brazil, with engineering help from Fabio Zperandio (Ophiolatry), and Frank Watkins will record the bass lines. No vocalist has been added to the line-up as of the present time, but there are several strong candidates being considered by Infernus. So far, everything has gone according to schedule, and the album is tentatively scheduled for a spring/summer 2009 release by Regain Records. An autumn 2009 tour is in the planning stages.

A meu ver podia ser:
King e Ghaal -> Continuam o seguimento do trabalho anterior
